The Art of The Cocktail

A fundraiser for the Victoria Film Festival is coming up this weekend. The Art of the Cocktail features a great mix of workshops. Here are some descriptions that they’ve provided:
Bridget Albert, author of Market-Fresh Mixology, hosts the Best Is Fresh, a journey through the creation of seasonal, well-balanced and tasty cocktails. Bridget takes the creation of cocktails very seriously and is in high demand as a mixology instructor. Learn the essentials of using fresh local produce along with the finest spirits in your cocktails.
Bitters are very important to the art of cocktail creation. No one knows this better than Scrappy whose small-batch boutique bitters grace the bar tops of some of the finest food and drink establishments in the Pacific Northwest. It’s Always Better with Bitters proves the best cocktails are the perfect alchemy that comes from mixing alcohol, something sweet, and Scrappy’s Bitters. Learn to make your own bitters at this workshop.
All hail the return of the Green Fairy! Absinthe is making a comeback and leading the charge is Gwydion Stone and his boutique distillery in Oregon where he makes Marteau, some of the finest Absinthe in the world. The Comeback Kid will help dispel some of the myths surrounding Absinthe, and let you in on why its return is so exciting for all serious mixologists.
The Art of the Cocktail brings the most notable mixologists and distillers to Victoria to lead 90-minute workshops on topics that will inspire your cocktail making and raise your game. Tickets for each Workshop are $20 and only available in advance.
